INFO: British electronic pioneers Karl Hyde and Rick Smith -- better known as Underworld -- have been recording together for an astonishing 30 years. By the time they released their 1988 debut LP, Underneath The Radar, they had sharpened their skills enough to record the entire album in a single take. Twenty-two years since, Underworld’s eighth LP, Barking, finds Hyde and Smith playing with others, in this case prog-trance heavyweight Paul Van Dyk, Iranian-American DJ and producer Dubfire, and Skull disco founder Laurie ”Appleblim” Osborne, to name a few. While Hyde and Smith claimed chief songwriting duties for Barking, each individual track was sent to said artists for additional production flourishes.
